1. Introduction
Welcome to GoCar Cyprus. By making a booking or using our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before renting a car. These terms explain your rights and responsibilities, as well as our obligations as a car rental provider.
2. Booking and Confirmation
All bookings made through our website, by email, or by phone are subject to confirmation. Once confirmed, you will receive a booking voucher by email. This voucher must be presented when collecting your car. Please check all details carefully, including pickup and return times, vehicle category, and personal information.
Bookings are confirmed according to vehicle availability. GoCar Cyprus reserves the right to provide an equivalent or upgraded vehicle if the booked model is not available at the time of pickup.
3. Payment Policy
No deposit and no credit card are required to confirm your booking unless otherwise stated in special cases. You can pay with a debit card or cash when collecting the vehicle. The total rental price includes taxes and basic insurance unless otherwise indicated.
In peak seasons or for long-term rentals, we may request a small prepayment to guarantee availability. All payments are processed in euros (EUR).
4. Cancellation and Modifications
You may cancel your booking free of charge up to 48 hours before the pickup time. For cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to pickup, a cancellation fee may apply. If you fail to collect the vehicle without notifying us, the booking will be considered a “no-show”, and no refund will be issued.
If you wish to modify your booking (change of dates, pickup location, or car category), please contact us as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
5. Driver’s Age and License Requirements
The minimum driver age is 21 years. The driver must hold a valid driving license for at least one year. For certain car categories, the minimum age may be higher. Drivers over 70 may be subject to additional insurance conditions or documentation requirements.
All drivers must present a valid driver’s license and passport or ID card at the time of pickup. International Driving Permits (IDP) are required for non-EU license holders.
6. Vehicle Pickup and Return
Cars can be collected from Larnaca Airport, Paphos Airport, or delivered to your hotel or private accommodation. When your booking is confirmed, you will receive the exact pickup location and instructions by email, including a full address and map pin.
Vehicles must be returned at the agreed date and time. Late returns may result in additional charges. Always notify us in advance if you wish to extend your rental period.
7. Fuel Policy
Our standard fuel policy is “full-to-full”. This means you receive the car with a full tank and should return it with a full tank. If the car is returned with less fuel, the difference plus a refueling fee will be charged.
8. Insurance Coverage
All cars come with basic insurance included, covering third-party liability and collision damage (subject to the rental agreement terms). Optional extended insurance packages may be offered for additional protection.
Insurance does not cover damages caused by negligence, driving under the influence, or violations of Cypriot traffic laws. Loss or damage to keys, tires, windshields, or the vehicle’s interior is not covered unless otherwise stated.
9. Use of Vehicle
The rented vehicle may only be driven by authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement. It is strictly prohibited to:
- Drive the car outside the Republic of Cyprus or into Northern Cyprus.
- Use the car for racing, towing, or illegal activities.
- Allow unauthorized persons to drive the car.
- Smoke inside the vehicle.
Any misuse of the vehicle will void the insurance and result in full financial responsibility for any damage or penalties.
10. Accidents and Breakdowns
In case of an accident or breakdown, contact GoCar Cyprus immediately using the phone number provided in your rental agreement. In the event of an accident, you must also notify the police and obtain a report. Failure to provide an official report may result in the loss of insurance coverage.
We provide 24/7 roadside assistance. If the vehicle cannot be repaired on-site, a replacement car will be arranged as soon as possible.
11. Traffic Fines and Violations
The renter is fully responsible for any traffic fines, parking tickets, or toll charges incurred during the rental period. Administrative fees may apply for processing fines received after the rental ends.
12. Personal Belongings
GoCar Cyprus is not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle before or after the rental. Please ensure you remove all items when returning the car.
13. Liability
Our liability is limited to the direct rental services provided. We are not responsible for losses caused by weather conditions, delays, accidents, or any third-party services beyond our control.
14. Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy and handle all customer data according to GDPR and Cypriot data protection laws. Personal data is used solely for processing your booking and improving customer service. We never share your information with third parties without your consent.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Cyprus.
